As you read in the newsletter, all parents involved in any volunteer work at school (including lunch duty, field trips, fish fry, and sports programs) are being asked to fill out a paper or online application with the diocese. Many parents may have already obtained clearances, but the Diocese is centralizing all of this information in a database. Even if you have previously applied for clearances, please fill out this application as soon as possible. The Diocese has offered to pay the $7 charge for all those who apply during June. To apply online, go to www.diopitt.org, scroll down and click on "Diocese of Pittsburgh Database Application" on the left side of screen. At top of new page takes you to, click on place indicated for those without user ID. This will take you to an application. The first section to fill in is Parish Affiliation. Choose "Pittsburgh: Sacred Heart School" in that spot because it is the primary affiliation for all of us." On the first page of the application, it will also ask for an access code; enter the word "protect" (no quotes). If you are unable to apply online, please fill out the paper application sent home in the last brown envelope and Sr. Lynn will enter it online for you. Call the school if you need a new application or have questions. While this process may seem a bit tedious, please keep in mind it is being requested for the protection your children.
